Weekday Baguettes (Guest Post)

I was honored when Leah Schapira over at Cook Kosher invited me to guest post. I knew this recipe was the perfect one to share. It's super easy, and the timing is flexible enough for a weeknight dinner.

In fact, since I shared the recipe with Leah a few weeks ago, I've made these baguettes at least once a week, sometimes more. They are a new family favorite.

Please visit Cook Kosher for the recipe.

Do you bake bread? What's your favorite formula?

  1. I like the recipe for the basic boule from Artisan Bread in 5 min a Day.

It won't do it justice if I repeat it here. There is a whole technique to it.

You make a big batch of very wet dough and use a little each day for several days. I find it's best on day 2 or 3.

  2. TDR: I love the Artisan Bread in 5 min a day formula too! I go through stages where I have that in the fridge at all times. Maybe I'll give that a shot soon. Thanks for the reminder!

  3. Thanks for posting for us. I love the relaxed method, but usually I'm in a rush so I make a quick batch of Rolls or Pita.

  4. Ahhhh, the Laurie Colwin bread recipe. She was a woman ahead of her time. I love her books. If you love spinach, you seriously have to try her creamed spinach recipe.

  5. You are ambitious. I love your breads and your salads most of all, at least right now. Your radish salad sold me in your other blog.

  6. This is a lovely baguette recipe. I like the combination of white and whole wheat flour and also the addition of the wheat germ. Thank you for sharing it with Let's Do Brunch. Hope to 'see' you there again this week!
